(Participants: max. 15; Time: 1 1/2hours)
This course is designed to help students become familiar with the most basic concepts in making presentations to small and large groups. It will include speaking in formal sessions (such as giving a presentation at a conference). Topics will include: Overcoming fear; Preparation; and Gestures. Students will be given activities and will perform short presentations in front of the audience to help them to acquire the skills discussed.
(Participants: max. 20; Time: 1 1/2 hours)
This course will help students to understand Critical Thinking and its importance in the western business world. The course will explain why critical thinking is important, along with the importance of questions, assumptions, reasons, evidence and support and logical fallacies. Seminar format will include lectures and student discussion/participation.
(Participants: max. 20; Time: 1 1/2 hours)
As international business requires much discussion of the pros and cons of a proposal, the skills of debate are very important for a person to understand and communicate his thoughts. This course is designed to help students understand the fine points of an argument and how to explain himself in a convincing manner. Classes include lecture on points of argumentation and student activities designed to help them become better debaters and discussants.
(Participants: max. 15; Time: 1 1/2 hours)
The goal of this course is to teach students about the essentials of negotiation. It will focus on the techniques and language used in the negotiation process. Students will practice the language and techniques through negotiation role plays and case studies.
(Participants: max. 20; Time: 1 1/2 hours)
This course will teach the language necessary for communicating in social situations and about cultural differences that arise when interacting with a person from another country.
